📡 Completely Offline
Birthday Reminder is a completely offline productivity app that helps you keep track of birthdays and anniversaries. You can import contacts from your device, add photos, set custom reminders, and see countdowns — all without any internet connection.
This privacy policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and — most importantly — what data never leaves your device. Because Birthday Reminder has no server, no backend, and no cloud services, all of your data stays on your device at all times.
Birthday Reminder accesses the following types of information, all of which remain exclusively on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
With your explicit permission, the app can read contact data from your device's address book when you choose to import a birthday. The following contact data may be accessed:
When you import a contact, a copy of the selected data (name, photo, birthday date, phone numbers, and email addresses) is stored in the app's local database. Your original device contacts are never modified or deleted by the app.
Note on WRITE_CONTACTS: The app declares the
WRITE_CONTACTS permission because the underlying
flutter_contacts plugin requires it for certain operations.
Birthday Reminder does not modify your contacts.
When you choose to add a photo to a birthday entry, the app uses the
system image picker (image_picker plugin) to let you select a
photo from your gallery. The selected image is compressed and stored in the
app's local database. Photos never leave your device.
You can create and manage birthday entries within the app. This includes:
All of this content is stored locally in the app's Hive database and is never transmitted to any server or third party.
The app schedules local notifications to remind you of upcoming birthdays.
These notifications are scheduled using the device's built-in alarm
system (flutter_local_notifications plugin) and are
purely local. No push notification service is used, and
no notification data is sent to any server.
We use the information accessed by the app solely for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for any other purpose, including advertising, analytics, research, or profiling.
Because Birthday Reminder is completely offline and has no server or backend, we explicitly do not collect:
We do not share your data with any third party. Birthday Reminder has no server, no backend API, and no cloud integration. The app does not communicate with any external service. All data is processed and stored locally on your device.
Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no data to share, sell, or transfer to any third party — now or in the future.
All data accessed and created by Birthday Reminder is stored locally on your device using Hive, a lightweight, fast local database for Flutter. The data is stored in the app's private directory and is not accessible to other apps on your device.
Your device's built-in storage encryption (e.g., Android's file-based encryption or iOS's Data Protection) provides an additional layer of security for the data at rest.
You have full control over your data. You can delete it in several ways:
Since no data is ever uploaded to any server, there is no need to request server-side deletion — there is nothing to delete beyond what is on your device.
None. Birthday Reminder does not use any third-party services. Specifically:
The app relies only on the Flutter framework and its open-source plugins, which operate entirely on-device.
The app requests the following permissions. Each is required for a specific feature and is never used for any other purpose.
| Permission | Platform | Purpose |

Birthday Reminder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can assist you in removing the data (which will be stored locally on the device).
You have the right to:
Because the app has no server-side component, there is no account to delete, and no data exists outside your device that would require a separate deletion request.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will notify you through the app or by updating the effective date prominently.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this privacy policy or the app's data practices, please contact us:
